On behalf of the Vogtland Regional Fernsehen GmbH HMS recently operated a DiSA Broadcast Suite-based broadcast automation for the Saxon local TV channel VRF.
On 1 December 2013 German TV broadcaster Bibel TV launched an HD version of its channel that is available in most parts of Europe via satellite (DVB-S) and free-to-air. The technical implementation was realized by HMS.
The program contents of 24 German regional TV stations in Brandenburg, Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are already available via satellite for a few weeks now. The newly launched channel BB-MV-Lokal-TV is free-to-air and provides daily 30-minute transmission windows for the participating content providers between 5:00 and 11:00 p.m..
TVC+Latino is another American TV station that uses HMS broadcast automation technology. The solution was developed by HMS and is based on the DiSA Broadcast Suite. Currently it provides the program to 9 affiliates across the U.S.. From its headquarters in Los Angeles TVC+Latino uses a BroadView® Content Management System to plan and schedule its program rundown. This data is then uploaded to the HMS playout center and imported into DiSA via its XML interface.
With TV Zwickau, another German regional TV station has opted for a broadcast automation by HMS. On behalf of TeleVision GmbH Zwickau HMS will shortly start operations of a solution based on the DiSA Broadcast Suite.
In march 2013, on behalf of TV Link new media GmbH & CO. KG, HMS provided German TV station Sylt 1 with a new Broadcast Automation. Sylt 1 broadcasts from the HMS playout center, where the signal is directly fed into the network of cable TV provider Kabel Deutschland. The developed solution also serves as basis for broadcasting a livestream, that is available in multiple versions via the Sylt 1 website, optimized for desktop and mobile devices.
On behalf of TVM/WWTV Lizenz- und Produktions GmbH, HMS already took over the broadcast automation of German regional TV station Westerwald TV (wwtv) in 2009. Shortly the conversion will take place at TV Mittelrhein. Both stations are using the DISA broadcast suite and will soon broadcast from the HMS playout center. From there, the signal is directly sent to the network of cable TV provider Kabel Deutschland.
Since 2010, the American music channel The Country Network (TCN) is using the DiSA Broadcast Suite. Special requirements of this project included the capability to broadcast different regional programs as well as providing integrated EAS functionality (Emergency Alert System). After a successful course of the project the station now has 53 affiliates in the United States.
London-based TV station OSC will soon broadcast from the HMS playout center. This includes the DiSA Broadcast Suite as well as a high performance playout server. It serves as foundation for a comprehensive solution that provides OSC the opportunity to distribute its content via IP stream to network operators worldwide.
Freiburg - In March 2013 HMS started operations of a digital playout solution for German TV station TV Südbaden. The aim of this project was to simplify workflows and reduce required broadcast hardware.
TV Südbaden is broadcasting since early 2001, initially under the name FR TV. Planning and playout of its program will from now on be realized by the DiSA Broadcast Suite from HMS. The DVB-compliant ASI output of the playout server, including EPG and Teletext is directly passed to cable network operator Kabel BW.
