HMS introduces complete SCTE35 end-to-end workflow

From now on our channel-in-a-box solution DiSA will be able to add cue tones to the program signal containing metadata based on SCTE35/104. This trigger defines, when the original program is left to play out other content and when it will continue. Metadata such as starting point, ending point, duration or segment IDs will be read automatically from the schedule and passed on, either via VANC (SCTE 104) or MPEG-TS (SCTE35). It is also possible to define rules, which are able to automatically set splice points or interpret XML tags when importing playlists from third party traffic systems.

In combination with AdFlow – our ad insertion solution – our clients now and for the first time have full control over the localization of program content. AdFlow takes over the digital program signal on the entry side, interprets the contained splicing information and substitutes content according to predefined rules. To import the necessary substitution playlists AdFlow communicates with ad servers or accepts playlists via watch folder or web service. All substitution content will first be automatically transcoded according to predefined profiles to ensure an optimal substitution process.

AdFlow is able to create multiple output signals with different content from only one input signal. The SCT35 based version can also be virtualized easily to allow scalable applications.
